Abstract
This work posits to comprehend the gesture as methodological device to investigate masculinities. Thus, the article retrieves a couple of intervention experiences, situated at the urban periphery and the prison. In these experiences based on artistic and pedagogical practices men elaborate thoughts and reflections pertaining to their masculinities, trough gestures: from a body´s position that only make sense when it is consider within a certain environment. This argument aims not so much to offer a well-defined characterization of the masculine identities of men, but to recognize these masculinities from a gesture, that is, through an affective relationship between body, subjectivity and territory.
