Resumo

Os feminismos nas Relações Internacionais têm se caracterizado por uma cisma entre epistemologias críticas e empiricistas, com implicações para as práticas explicativas das feministas. Neste artigo, argumento que essa aparente cisma se dissolve quando recuperamos as ontologias feministas vis-à–vis suas explicações constitutivas e causais. Nesse processo, evoco a ideia de poderes causais para demonstrar a inter-relação entre constituição e causalidade e para reconfigurar o debate sobre explicação dentro dos feminismos das RI. Concluo que a explicação feminista é simultaneamente constitutiva e causal, o que é articulado pela ontologia dos poderes causais.
