Resumo

O objetivo do estudo foi fornecer indicativos para o treinamento de rugby em cadeira de rodas (RCR), a partir das alterações fisiológicas, neuromusculares e bioquímicas características dos atletas com lesão na medula espinhal. Foi realizada uma revisão bibliográfica buscando reflexões sobre a lesão na medula espinhal e implicações no treinamento desportivo; alterações fisiológicas, neuromusculares e bioquímicas e suas relações com o RCR; caracterização das ações específicas da modalidade e prescrição de carga; processos de avaliação e controle do treinamento no RCR. Com esse trabalho, espera-se que mais pesquisas sejam realizadas de modo a aprofundar o conhecimento sobre o RCR, com a modulação do jogo a partir das principais demandas fisiológicas da modalidade, características dos atletas e noções técnico-táticas.
