Special Issue: Land use and Land Cover (LULC)

The Brazilian journal LABOR e ENGENHO (, from University of Campinas (UNICAMP) are promoting the Special Issue Land Use and Land Cover (LULC).

Deadline: 1st June, 2020

For many years humans have been trying to learn how to manage their relationship with the environment. In several parts of the world, land use and cover (LULC), as well as its constant modification, have represented one of the most important environmental changes. Quantitative and qualitative analyses of LULC, as well as the rapid evolution of this process, provide robust scientific information to understand the influence of human activities on different systems and scales. The interdisciplinary approach to these processes helps us to improve the management and planning of complex land use and occupation systems, making them more sustainable in the short, medium and long term.

In this special issue, original manuscripts on the theme of land use and land cover from different perspectives are encouraged: geography, agronomy, forestry, urban soil, land conservation, cultural heritage, remote sensing, climatology, modelling, land governance, land policy, engineering, architecture and urbanism, among others.

Manuscripts can be submitted and published in Portuguese or English or French or Italian or Spanish. They must be submitted on the journal website ( and the text must not exceed 20 pages. There are no charges for submitting or publishing the manuscript.
