Resumo
Este artigo apresenta uma análise do prefixo poro‑ em Wajãpi, um marcador gramatical que só pode associar-se a radicais de verbos transitivos. Propõe-se aqui que esse prefixo tenha uma função antipassiva. O principal objetivo deste estudo é fornecer evidências concretas para apoiar essa hipótese, com base principalmente em dados não solicitados. Três critérios são usados para mostrar que as formas verbais marcadas com poro‑ são intransitivas em Wajãpi, demonstrando, assim, que esse marcador não é capaz de referir e é, portanto, um antipassivador. Essa suposição também é colocada em perspectiva com uma suposição semelhante recentemente proposta na linguística tupi-guarani para cognatos de poro‑ em Tenetehára, Guarani paraguaio e Tupinambá.
