Abstract
From the work Dictionaries under analysis”: word, language, discourse, organized by Verli Petri, Kelly Guasso, Thaís Costa and Francine Freitas, published by Pontes Editora in 2020, we organized a reading work in the form of this review. In the intertwining of Discourse Analysis and the History of Linguistic Ideas, the authors discuss, in general, how the dictionary, understood as a discursive object, allows the production of meanings, historicizing the saying and meaning in the discourse. The work is the result of discussions promoted by the Pallind Study Group (Word Language and Discourse), from the Corpus/PPGL/UFSM Laboratory. Divided in three parts, it reveals the magnitude of the Pallind Study Group in fostering discussions about the dictionary, in the advancement of language sciences and in valuing the scrutinizing gaze of the young researcher in relation to the expertise of those who have been dedicated to the study for a long time off word, language and speech.
