Resumo

O artigo procura entender e avaliar o fundamento sobre o qual Kant estabelece sua doutrina da liberdade. O relacionamento entre liberdade e determinismo é posto em questão e o suposto conflito se mostra ilusório, pois nega à experiência um papel central. Para concluir, fazem-se considerações sobre a importância destes resultados para o papel e a relevância da liberdade como noção ética.
