Resumo
As reflexões acerca da política industrial e, em termos mais amplos, dos caminhos para a superação do subdesenvolvimento devem estar apoiadas numa adequada compreensão dos condicionantes tecnoprodutivos característicos à cada período histórico. Este editorial relaciona o recente revigoramento do debate em torno da política industrial à emergência da Indústria 4.0 e da China como potência manufatureira. Apresenta-se uma visão panorâmica sobre a evolução desta temática, desde as ideias fundadoras dos clássicos do desenvolvimento econômico até as formulações contemporâneas mais relevantes, para introduzir e contextualizar as contribuições dos artigos que compõem essa seção especial da Revista Brasileia de Inovação.
