Abstract
This article aims to analyze a case of abuse and sexual coercion perpetrated by a militant in a revolutionary leftist organization, Darcy Rodrigues, against a female comrade, Carmen Monteiro, during the Brazilian civil-military dictatorship. The main source used in the analysis is the book Mulheres que foram à luta armada [Women who entered the armed struggle] by journalist Luiz Maklouf Carvalho, which contains accounts from former members of the Revolutionary Popular Vanguard. The analysis will consider the idea that sexuality is not merely biological or innate but is influenced by sociocultural elements.
