Resumo
A filosofia e as teorias feministas que implicitamente seapóiam em seus conceitos e métodos recusam-se reconhecer, ao mesmo tempo que precisam se apoiar neles, modos de corporalidade para sua forma, estrutura e estatuto, para situar questões-chave e para estabelecer critérios de validade e verdade de seus modos de explicação. Este texto indica, num breve esboço, algumas das características principais da história recebida que herdamos na nossa concepção atual dos corpos, chamando a atenção para o fato de que se a teoria feminista aceita acriticamente essas suposições comuns, ela participa da desvalorização social do corpo que anda de mãos dadas com a opressão das mulheres.
Abstract
Philosophy and feminist theories implicitly based on its concepts and methods refuse to acknowledge modes of corporeality for their form, structure, and statute, to locate key questions and to establish validity and truth criteria for their modes of explanation. This text suggests, in broad outlines, some of the main characteristics of the history we inherit in our conception of the body, calling attention to the fact that if feminist theory uncritically accepts these usual assumptions it will be participating in the social devaluation of the body which goes hand in hand with the oppression of women.Referências
