Resumo

O presente artigo discute os principais itens da agenda para a reforma do sistema monetário internacional sob a ótica dos países em desenvolvimento. Sugere o FMI como o fórum mais adequado para administrar, no futuro, o SMI, e o fortalecimento do G-24 como forma de participação dos países em desenvolvimento nas decisões internacionais.

Abstract

This paper highlights some of the main items on the new agenda with the aim of laying basis for a discussion about international monetary system, from the developing countries point of view. It suggests IMF as the most satisfactory forum within which to manage a new international monetary regime and the need of building a coalition among developing countries.
