Abstract
It is with great pleasure that I present to the reader of Ideias, the book organized by Oswaldo Truzzi, Full Professor of Sociology at the Federal University of São Carlos. Oswaldo is recognized as one of the most important researchers in the field of historical international migration. In recent years he has been coordinating two important ones, namely: 1) Historical-social paths in the incorporation of immigrants in the West of São Paulo (1880-1950) and 2) Comparative interiors: São Paulo, Buenos Aires and other migratory destinations, 1850-1950, involving several researchers, some of whom are authors of chapters in the work on screen. The book is the result of these research projects.
