Resumo
Una de las preocupaciones centrales de la sociología médica es la cuestión de los determinantes sociales de la salud y la enfermedad. Contra el modelo naturalista, que tiende a restringir al ámbito biológico el origen de las diversas enfermedades, desde disciplinas como la sociología, las ciencias políticas y la antropología se postula un modelo social que sostiene que los factores culturales y socioeconómicos juegan un papel más importante que los biológicos en la producción de las variaciones en los niveles de salud que se advierten en las diversas sociedades.Referências
