Focus and Scope
Scope: To disseminate engineering and science applied to territorial development through technical-scientific articles which discuss the local values of a particular region and recognize these values as resources to achieve resilience and sustainability. Our goals are:
- To value work (Labor) and innovation (Engenho) that result from academic research or professional experience.
- To highlight productive and cultural processes which integrate water and territorial systems.
- To promote resilience and sustainability to these processes and systems by conserving the heritage and the landscape, keeping in mind the local development.
- To provide specific knowledge on urban and rural planning, on territorial planning, on water management (city-country system) and on integrated management of watersheds , as well as its water and its territorial resources.
Objectives: To publish, with no cost, excellent articles in Portuguese, Spanish and English, integrating areas of Engineering for territorial planning and sustainable local development.
Target audience: Technicians, scientists, academics, managers and members, companies' and social organizations' directors, citizens, professionals and researchers who work with Labor & Engenho's areas of expertise, which are:
- urban and regional planning;
- urbanism and land use planning;
- urban and rural architecture and engineering;
- environmental heritage and cultural landscape;
- local development, resilience and sustainability;
- climate change applied to agriculture, environment and related areas.
