Abstract
Life in Brazilian cities carries singularities that, in most cases, are originated from Brazilian people singularities. Submerged in a context widely identified as "third world ", our cities bear witness tovitality of a heterogeneous society (in its ethnic composition, and its social structure), of great cultural wealth, but also of profound adversity arising from poverty. The Brazilian urbanization was carried by a dramatic trajectory of fractures and uprooting focusing on great population contingents who, gradually, were transformed into an urban citizen mass. This paper shows a thinking about the wefts in this context.
