Resumo

Nesta nota de discussão, pretendo reconstruir e avaliar a recente tentativa de Korsgaard de estender seu argumento da regressão. Começo, na seção 1, com uma breve recapitulação do argumento do regresso. Então, na seção 2, passo para a extensão. Argumento que a extensão não funciona porque Korsgaard não pode descartar a possibilidade – uma possibilidade para a qual há tanto evidência empírica quanto pressão argumentativa vinda diretamente da regressão original – de que valorizamos a animalidade em nós mesmos qua animalidade de seres racionais.
