Abstract
A defense of a certain casea kind of ad hominem arguments is proposed here. It is shown that, in certain cases, considering the personal característica of the proponente of na argument is relevant for the assessment of its objective truth-content.
Contemporary formal logic’ – both classical and non-classical – inability to provide na adequate account of all aspects of the validity of argumentation is criticized, taking as an illustration the problem of the so-called “ad hominem fallacies”.
