The space as a power of molecular dimensions: the sidewalk of São João Avenue

Abstract

This article seeks to explore other ways of thinking about the metropolises, the public space, based on the rhizomatic thinking of the experience and practice of drift and cartography. Identifying and recognizing the local singularities and territorialities that inhabit the spaces of contemporary city. Through a process of apprehension and cognition of the place in the street and user scale, questioning the functionalist processes of space production of an urbanism that follows the rules of standardized capitalist system. The spatial section of São João Avenue, in the Anhangabaú Valley in São Paulo, enters this research as an experimental, symbolic laboratory, which will be conducted by rhizomatic movement and expressed by cartographies of forces and affections that cross the bodies, considering the micro-resistances, the environmental, socio-political and subjectivity production issues.
