Marielle Franco’s street: uma proposta de análise semântica

Abstract

In March of 2018, after the death of councilor Marielle Franco (and Anderson Gomes, her driver), a street sign with the inscription “Rua Marielle Franco” was placed in Cinelândia, in Rio de Janeiro, in front of the city hall. However, in October of the same year, the street sign was broken by two candidates for the position of State Deputy for the PSL (Partido Social Liberal). After the depredation, a demonstration was held in honor of Marielle through the distribution of more than a thousand street signs bearing her name. Thus, in light of the Semantics of the Event (GUIMARÃES, 2002), this work seeks to reflect on the enunciation “Rua Marielle Franco”, mainly thinking about the multiplication of street signs with this sentence. For this, I focus on Orlandi's (2004) studies about order and organization of the city articulated to notions of event, rewriting, text and enunciation (Guimarães, 2002).
