Abstract

This review aims to present the book Testimonies of Resistance and Revolt – a study in Discourse Analysis written by Bethania Mariani. The collection of texts brings the testimony as a discursive object, discussing in this gesture notions of subject, unconscious, ideology, real – questions that insist on her theoretical-methodological path in Discourse Analysis, crossed by Psychoanalysis. In this way, Mariani weaves her tangle of threads through the way her object of study works in each analyzed textuality. Throughout the eight chapters, the book traces a path of discursive readings of the testimony in different objects of analysis. And the reader can follow this trajectory to continue reflecting on the notion of testimony, its modes of operation, its relations with the unspeakable, with the real of history and language, with the urgency of certain sayings, with resistance and revolt, among many other questions that arise with each page turned.
