Abstract
Uxa Xavier is a Brazilian dance artist, teacher and researcher. In 2010, she created the group Lagartixa na Janela, which has been developing investigations and artistic productions between the universe of childhood, dance and public spaces in the city. Based on experiences and reflections on the fundamentality of art and its teaching in public schools in the current Brazilian scenario, the interviewer proposes conducting an interview with the artist to compose the dossier for the Extension Project Embodyment poetics in pandemic landscapes: creating communities to revive affections with the city. The interview focuses on the group's actions and projects between 2020 and 2021, the most intense period of the Covid-19 pandemic, and the years 2022 and 2023, when it gradually returns to face-to-face activities. With the choice of this time frame, it was intended to know the interviewee's perceptions and reflections on the powers of dance in pandemic and post-pandemic landscapes, and more specifically, her attention to a choreo-childhood for times of reunion.
