Abstract
This review discusses Judith Butler’s book “Excitable Speech: A Politics of the Performative". The author addresses hate speech and the boundaries of freedom of speech, emphasizing the vulnerability of language by arguing that hate speech can fail. Butler proposes the subversion of hate speech and criticizes state regulation, advocating for the political engagement of vulnerable groups.
