Abstract

The article proposes to show one central feature of fundamentalist rethoric and practice, in many religions today: the emphasis on gender relatioship. These movements, beyond their differences, share the concern about domestic sphere, the changes in the family, children education, sexual roles, etc and propose programs to resharpe family life in accord with their religious values. It’s possible to say-like Hardacre –, that there is an “identifiable pattern” across different traditions. The author provides exemples to Judaism, Muslim and Protestant fundamentalism on these “family traits” that they share.
