Abstract

This article aims to discuss the literature on mobility induced by climate change from a historical-structuralist approach to migration considering the contributions of Wallerstein, Portes and other authors. The main objective is to understand how predisposing socioeconomic conditions differ in the number of annual displaced persons due to climatic disasters in developed and developing countries. For this purpose, data on displacement induced by climate change and vulnerability and readiness indexes will be used in twenty countries, in order to answer the following question: what is the situation of developed and developing countries from the perspective of historical-structuralist theory with regard to displacement induced by climate change?
