Abstract
Children and adolescents usually migrate with family members and rarely have an active voice in this process. In view of this situation, the study sought to understand how Haitian children and adolescents form narratives about their migration experience and how these narratives trigger aspects of the socio-school insertions of Haitian migrants in Porto Alegre. A case study was carried out, focused on narratives about the migratory process and local experience. In the narratives, Haitian culture was linked to the possibilities of bonding and experiences of exclusion, indicating the need for institutional care strategies.
