O discurso sobre a língua no período Vargas (Estado Novo - 1937/1945)

Abstract

The discourse about language is an interesting point of observation to know the history of language policies which come to effect through different períods, and mostly during different goverment regimes. In this article I present a brief analysis of the question of language in the períod of the Varga's dictatorship in Brazil, know as " Estado Novo" (New State). We can thereby understand how the question of language can be something subjected to control and censorship.
