Abstract
This paper presents an analysis of the work of linguist Jan Michal Rozwadowski, considered the starter of the studies in Linguístics in Poland. Examining the critique that Rozwadowski makes on Wundt, the author points out his will of simplification of wundt's model, related to values of the linguistics contemporary to Rozwadowski and, on the outher hand, calls attention to the up-to-date character of some of his pronouncements.
