La Politisation de la memoire - les " choses dignes de memoire " chez machiavel et Francesco guicciardini

Abstract

This paper reconstructs in the writing of two florentine political thinkers from the time of italian wars, machiavel and Francesco Guicciardini, the uses of memory. The analysis show how the political will of florentine historiography, which pretends to be useful to the City and the community of citizens, is affected by the wars, being led to politicize memory, to understand that there is in its own definition an important question. That which is worth of memory is then that which allows thinking of "time quality", and offering thinking tools adapted to the problems of the presents.
