Abstract
The text seeks to present a reflection on the so-called “enunciative theory” attributed to linguist Émile Benveniste (1902–1976), based on the 1970 seminal article “The formal apparatus of enunciation”. Since it is the last article published by Benveniste, it converges his more than forty years of reflections on enunciation, which means it represents the moment when Benveniste’s so-called “enunciative theory” is synthesized, allowing one to find condensed discussions made in previous texts. Initially, we analyze the esogenetic documentation of the article to then present the main lines of reflection that guide a methodological approach to the text.
