Abstract
In the form of a book, Marcos Aurélio Pereira publishes, in a partially modified version, his Master's dissertation, defended at the USP in 1997, which had as its advisor the Latinist Antonio da Silveira Mendonça and as its object the "grammatical chapters" of the first book of Quintilian's Institutio Oratoria (Oratory Education) (36?-96? AD).
