Resumen

La lectura habitual de la perspectiva “antropológica” de Descartes la clasifica como un dualismo radical con una distinción entre dos sustancias, mente y cuerpo, que experimentan importantes dificultades de interacción. Mediante una contextualización del pensamiento fisiológico y psicológico de Descartes, así como mediante una lectura menos fragmentada de su obra, pretendemos revisar esta interpretación tradicional, mostrando así su carácter distorsionado. Cuando prestamos atención a la pasión, aparece una nueva imagen de Descartes como una especie de monismo fenomenal, que es marcadamente diferente de la imagen legendaria típicamente asociada con él, incluso hoy.
