Resumo
O problema da modernidade ocupa um lugar central na reflexão política de Leo Strauss. Diante disso, o objetivo fundamental deste artigo é analisar como esse autor entendeu e questionou o projeto filosófico proposto por pensadores modernos. Nesse sentido, tentaremos compreender como, na perspectiva de Strauss, a modernidade, buscando fazer na história a melhor ordem política através do abandono do esoterismo tradicional e de uma radical politização da filosofia, envolve um ideal de racionalização da vida humana. isso é, em última análise, problemático tanto para a sociedade quanto para a filosofia.
