Abstract
This study presents a descriptive analysis of the Brazilian Association of Research and Industrial Innovation - Embrapii. This institution has become an increasingly important reference to stimulate the collaborative innovation activity between companies and the 42 Embrapii Units (research labs accredited by Embrapii). Since the beginning of its activities, Embrapii has supported over 500 projects with more than 350 companies. An essential point of the model is leveraging business R & D resources based on government’s grant. The model has become a new financing standard for innovation developed in partnership between companies and research institutions in Brazil.
