Resumen
Este artículo aborda, desde la Antropología del Cristianismo, cómo la relación de los pentecostales con el tiempo puede inspirar su forma de presencia en la esfera pública brasileña. A través del proceso de conversión, los fieles aprehenden formas específicas de estructurar el tiempo, entre ellas, la temporalidad profética, tema central de este artículo. Este encuadramiento temporal genera sensibilidades disciplinadas que exceden la vida de los fieles, estimulando el modo de incidencia pública del pentecostalismo como institución. Para dar cuenta de lo que quiero mostrar, aportaré datos relativos a dos eventos dirigidos por Silas Malafaia, uno de los principales líderes evangélicos de Brasil. Me detendré principalmente en el Acto Profético a favor de Brasil, que tuvo lugar en 2016 en el contexto de la destitución de la presidenta Dilma Rousseff, y en el culto en el que Malafaia recibe en su iglesia al entonces recién elegido presidente, Jair Bolsonaro. El contexto de las profecías declaradas por Malafaia en ambos acontecimientos será el objetivo principal del estudio.
