Resumo
Este artigo descreve e analisa processos morfológicos e sintáticos relacionados ao fenômeno da hierarquia de pessoa presente na língua Avá Guarani, a partir do quadro teórico da Gramática Gerativa e, em especial, a partir da Morfologia Distribuída. Neste estudo, atestaremos que o Avá é uma língua que exibe um padrão de hierarquia de pessoa (1 > 2 > 3), que afeta o sistema de concordância da língua, ou seja, a seleção do argumento que será marcado nos verbos transitivos está condicionada à pessoa que figura na posição de sujeito e de objeto. Este trabalho evidencia, ainda, que o fenômeno da hierarquia de pessoa apresenta implicações também na ordem sintática da língua Avá Guarani. Desse modo, argumentaremos, a partir de Jelinek e Carnie (2003), que existe uma notável relação entre o fenômeno da hierarquia de pessoa e o deslocamento sintático do objeto nesta língua.
