Abstract

The current species extinction crisis in planetary scale, that is being denominated as Sixth Mass Extinction, has called the attention of a growing number of researchers that research the impacts of human activities on the biodiversity. This article brings an archaeological approach of this crisis, highlighting the fact that there was an explosive increase of the production of technical forms, here denominated as “technodiversity,” alongside a worrying decrease of life forms (biodiversity). The article is concluded with the affirmation that what is causing the Sixth Mass Extinction is the amount of everything that was produced by humankind in its fight for the survival, factor that I denominate as psychotechnosphere.
