Resumo

A Economia Compartilhada (EC) representa uma nova forma de consumo cuja disseminação é explicada pela crescente ubiquidade das plataformas digitais e aplicativos. Esse artigo possui três objetivos: 1) construir um indicador capaz de mensurar o ingresso dos países na EC; 2) caracterizar o ingresso dos países nesse novo modelo de consumo; e, 3) identificar os fatores que influenciam na sua propagação. A análise descritiva dos dados e seis regressões por mínimos quadrados ordinários são utilizados para identificar os fatores que explicam a expansão da EC, mensurada através da construção de um Índice de EC, com base em 14,9 bilhões de dados de tráfego nos sites e aplicativos especializados em compartilhamento para 175 países. As estatísticas descritivas mostram que a EC está se difundindo principalmente entre os países que apresentam renda mais elevada. Já as regressões estimadas indicam que o acesso à internet, os direitos de propriedade e a presença de um ambiente excessivamente regulamentado são os principais fatores que contribuem para o acesso a esse novo padrão de consumo.
