Resumo
N’O paraíso perdido de John Milton, criatividade poética e imaginação crítica estão intimamente associadas. Usando o circuito da teoria e da prática pós-colonial de Edward Said, este artigo encena uma leitura do texto de Milton em contraponto: o poema épico pode finalmente se livrar de seu conteúdo colonial e contribuir decisivamente para a reorganização do espaço entre a crítica e a criatividade. O paraíso de Milton é lido em termos de um mo(vi)mento de resistência contra e intervenção em uma suposta grande narrativa de poder com vistas a propor tanto uma conversação pós-colonial com este poema inglês do início da modernidade quanto uma cena contemporânea para este texto.
