Resumo
“Comprehension check” is a dialogue which occurs simultaneously to biblical translation for indigenous languages at Summer Institute of Linguistics. During this stage, the missionary verifies, by way of question and answer, the native’s comprehension of the translated biblical text. This kind of questioning acts as a form of biblical teaching during the process of missionary translation. The analysis of this missionary interviewing technique is conducted by the precepts of Pragmatics and the Ethnography of Communication.Referências
