Resumo
Este artigo propõe uma reflexão sobre a semântica e a pragmática de itens de livre escolha, a partir de uma análise mais detalhada de ‘qualquer’. Defende-se que esse item não é um quantificador, mas que ele opera sobre o domínio da quantificação, ampliando-o maximamente e impondo a existência de alternativas. Há itens de livre escolha que são quantificadores, como ‘tudo quanto é’. Pragmaticamente,esses podem veicular tanto apreciações positivas quanto negativas.Referências
