A relação entre a negação e a categoria Tempo tem sido explorada nos estudos em sintaxe gerativa desde Pollock (1989). Zanuttini (1996), por exemplo, argumenta que o núcleo Neg só pode ocorrer na presença de Tempo. Trabalhos mais recentes (Ramchand 2001, Teixeira de Sousa 2012, 2015), no entanto, tem observado uma relação entre as relações temporais que geram as interpretações de proposição e evento e a negação. Assim, nesse trabalho, analisa-se a distinção entre estruturas [Neg VP] – Neg1 e estruturas [Neg VP Neg] – Neg2 no português brasileiro como negações de evento e proposição, apresentando uma nova proposta para a derivação dessas estruturas.Referências
