About the Journal

Focus and Scope

Conceição | Conception, from the Postgraduate Program in Performing Arts at the Arts Institute of UNICAMP, is a periodical of continuous publication, online, covering the fields of theatre, dance, performance and social performance. It publishes articles in Portuguese, Spanish and English that propose interfaces, mergers, juxtapositions and tensions between these fields, aiming at the strengthening of specificities as well as convergences.

From the notions of conception/creation in the field of performing arts, it seeks to give visibility to the productions of researchers from different higher education institutions on artistic creation, critical reflections, performance and training of the dancer, actor/actress and performer. It also seeks to give a voice to artists through the publication of dramaturgical texts or performative writing. Reflections beyond the arts, on themes related to social or citizen performance, are welcome.

Peer Review Process

The publication follows the peer review system.

After a preliminary review, the editorial board forwards the work to the independent judgment of at least two evaluators ("double-blind" method), whose areas of competence and academic background are related to the topic of the text. If there is a disagreement between the referees, the work is sent to a third evaluator.

At the end of the process, authors receive communication regarding the opinions issued, ensuring the confidentiality of the opinions.

There are three options: 1. Acceptance of the article as sent; 2. Acceptance of the article after the reviews suggested by the opinions and; 3. Refusal. Specific problems and resources are examined and decided by the Editors.

As stated above, Conceição | Conception works with the "blind evaluation", in which evaluators do not identify authors of contributions and vice versa.

Periodicity

Conceição | Conception is a periodical of continuous publication.

Fees for submission and publication of texts

Conceição | Conception does not charge any fee for published texts, nor those submitted for evaluation, review, publication, distribution or download. The publication is completely free.
