Abstract

The publication of this edition of the magazine Conceição | Conception has, for us, a very special meaning. The invitation to Profa. Dr. Ileana Dieguéz Caballero to join the team as Guest Editor of the Dossier “Arts, performativity, generalized and necropolitical crisis” expresses the desire to open the publication for broader reflections and about the place of the arts and performativity as a cultural force, in a context as complex and difficult as what we go through. We understand that it is no longer possible to ignore the urgencies of our time, especially the crisis of hegemonic modes of existence that have spread across the planet, often guided by the destruction of the environment, economic overexploitation, veiled and declared cultural and political wars. extermination, especially in the “peripheral” areas of the world. How can we reconsider the artistic knowledge and creative powers that they mobilize to face an unprecedented situation, reinventing artistic and cultural actions as reconfiguring forces in our personal and collective life?
