Abstract

We studied 20 women with a mean age of 57.7 years old, and 09 with unilateral
quadrantectomy type surgery, surgery type quadrantectomy 01 with bilateral and 10
with unilateral radical mastectomy surgery. The overall mean operative time was nine
years and eight months (9,8). The study on quality of life was conducted with women
who have undergone this surgery over a period of six months after surgery. Results: The
difficulties are more related to day to day tasks, such as lifting your arm, move it in
different directions, decreased muscle strength, pain, swelling and other difficulties
being dependent on another person. Besides the difficulties were reported for the other
emotional: fear, sadness, crying, fear of surgery and chemotherapy, cancer scares, going
without hair, physical appearance, remedies fat, I was cold in sexual intercourse in
marriage separation, depression and other. Conclusion: All of them answered live better
today and see life differently, or think more of themselves and appreciate life more.
