Abstract

UNICAMP is already conceived, by the academic community, as a University that among
other characteristics, appreciate international exchanges. However, the production and
access to the reports made about these exchanges seem to be little feasible, which also
greatly compromises the learning of them by UNICAMP itself and the community. The
objective of this analysis is assess some historical aspects involving the participation of
undergraduates in Physical Education from UNICAMP (FEF e CE/FCA) propitiated by the
program IYLE (International Youth Leader Education), ISCA (International Sport and
Culture Association). Two different methods of analysis, documental and bibliographical.
As a result it is possible to point that in 1997, the UNICAMP (FEF/UNICAMP and
members of Unicamp Gymnastics Group - GGU) sent the first undergraduate students to
IYLE program; between 1997 and 2012, 53 undergraduates were sent and were nominally
identified with the respective periods of participation. In this universe of 53
undergraduates: 51 belonged to the FEF/UNICAMP; the majority belonging to the GGU;
32 were female and 21 male; 38 went to Ollerup School and 15 for Viborg School. In
general, was identified the importance of a university extension project in the area of
Gymnastics (as GGU) as a major mediator of the internationalization in the university, and
the importance of historical studies to better record and trigger this process.
