Abstract

Whereas the aquatic activities also include physical activity programs targeted to people with
disabilities, the present study aims to explain about the water activities of the UNIAFA
Program-physical activity Adapted in UNIOESTE. This activity with the participation of eight (8) persons with disabilities, aged four (4) and 62 years, consisting of six (6) male and
two (2) female, who have intellectual disabilities, physical and/or sensory. Upon the
perception reported by participants (or their responsible when children) in relation to the
health benefits provided through the water activities, identified that eight (8) declared present
improvements in physical aspects and only one (1) highlighted the improvement of
psychological and social aspects. For reasons involving aquatic activities, through the
participants themselves or their families, five (5) cited by like to practice physical activities,
two (2) participating by family influence and one (1) per leisure.
