Abstract

The study aimed to: a) compare the anthropometric variables Brazilian sprinters with
international elite sprinters b) describe the proportionality of Brazilian elite sprinters. We
studied 10 athletes elite sprinters Brazilian Athletics Confederation. We evaluated the
weight, height, four skinfolds and two bone diameters. Was fractionated into four body
components (residual weight, bone, fat and muscle) and proportionality was determined by
the strategy of the Phantom. The results show that the Brazilian sprinters are underweight,
BMI and younger than the global elite sprinters, but are similar in stature. In the
proportionality show lower values of fat and fat weight, however, show a greater diameter
of the wrist, residual weight, bone and muscle. The results suggest that the group of
sprinters Brazilians suffer from years of training in order to gain more weight. These
athletes are characterized by complexity wrist thick and heavier bone and muscle in the
phantom.
