Abstract
This text presents the register of an interview realized with the athlete Jovane Guissone, first Brazilian to win a
medal in Paralympic Games in wheelchair fencing. The athlete from Rio Grande do Sul trains in Porto Alegre
and is part of Servers Association of Security Area Disabled team. Through the interview, we seek to understand
his history in sports, highlighting the involvment with fencing practice, training conditions, participation in the
2012 Paralympic Games, the conquest of unpublished medal and, lastly, evidence how the athlete perceives
Paralympic sports in Brazil.
