Resumen

El objetivo del estudio fue proporcionar indicios para el entrenamiento del rugby en silla
de ruedas (RSR), a partir de las características fisiológicas, bioquímicas y neuromusculares
de los deportistas con lesiones de la médula espinal. Se realizó una revisión de la literatura
buscando reflexiones sobre la lesión de la médula espinal y las implicaciones para el
entrenamiento deportivo, alteraciones fisiológicas, bioquímicas y neuromusculares y su
relación con RSR, la caracterización de las acciónes específicas de la modalidad y la
prescripción de la carga del entrenamiento, los procesos de evaluación y control del
entrenamiento en el RSR. Con esta investigación esperase que se realicen más
investigaciones con el fin de profundizar en el conocimiento del RSR, con la modulación
del juego, a partir de las principales demandas fisiológicas de la modalidad, las
características de los deportistas y nociones básicas de las habilidades y tácticas.
