Resumo

The focus of this paper is that we want to give a brief introduction about the idea of Parametric Design (PD) and the use of data to inform the design process. The digital fabrication is not covered in detail in this document. In the case study “Live Building” explains a sensory process. The project shows how to collect data, transformed and transported into a shape. Innovation is not only the approach of the draft, but the systematic procedure and the resulting diversity of solutions. The search for the geometric shape and the key to the concept will be answered in detail.

Ferdinand Facklam, Ferdinand Facklam Parametric Design

Architect and graduated his Master in Advanced Studies in CAAD at the ETH Zürich. He studied interesting methods in the field of CAD Scripting, Parametric Design and Digital Fabrication. His desire is to combine new types of technologies with form and design in a contextual and artistic way. 2010 he established his own company about Parametric Design.

Felipe Pecegueiro do Amaral Curado, Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalunya

Master in Advanced Architecture by the Institute of Advanced Architecture of Catalonia, Felipe is interested in the development of new technologies within the architecture field. With a background in digital fabrication and electronics, he teaches in workshops. Besides he works as head of advanced modeling, EMBT Miralles Tagliabue, in Barcelona.
